Components produced from composite material

Composite materials or composites are usually comprised of two or more materials and are light and extremely resilient. The aerospace industry values these materials as they offer high tensile strength and rigidity combined with low density. Other advantages include high energy absorption capacity, corrosion resistance, low thermal expansion and excellent fatigue behaviour. For these reasons, amongst others, they are also used today in safety-related components.

However, composites such as CFRP materials place certain demands on the metal cutting tools. Our PCD tools for boring and milling are the first choice for reliable and efficient machining. They offer a minimal risk of delamination, high tool life and very good dimensional stability.​
