The Xtra•tec® shoulder, face, slot and side and face mills in combination with the legendary Tiger•tec® cutting tool materials have long since become the benchmark in many sectors of industry.

With its 45° approach angle, the universal-use octagon mill F4081 is particularly well suited to circular interpolation milling. The balanced-construction tool ensures improved running on spindle. The hard-nickel plated surface provides protection from corrosion and wear, and ensures better chip flow. Its internal coolant supply provides direct cooling to this precision mill at the point of cutting.​​


The double positive geometry of the eight-edged insert produces a very soft cutting action and therefore a very high metal removal rate, even on low-performance machines or during unstable machining operations. The wide variety of different geometries and grades allows optimal adaptation to the most varied of materials. A high level of process reliability and performance is thus also ensured through the use of the Tiger•tec® cutting tool materials.

Thanks to its new, thoroughly unique CVD coating technology, Tiger•tec® Silver is pushing ahead into completely new dimensions with increases in output of up to 100 %. The decisive benefits of the new technology are:

  • extreme toughness and minimal formation of hairline cracks due to optimum residual stress
  • greatly reduced tribochemical wear due to perfect, smooth cutting surfaces
  • not susceptible to thermal stress variations during wet and dry machining

Proto∙max™ST with ConeFit™

New materials such as titanium alloys require extremely strong machining tools. Walter Prototyp delivers the best combination of industry standards and customised solutions.

The Proto∙max™ST mill is completely at home in slot milling, circular interpolation milling, pocket milling during roughing operations, semi-finishing and finishing. Its uneven spacing ensures low spindle loading. The "back cutting" reduces the visible water lines on the component and offers optimal chip evacuation as a result of the 50° helix angle. Its unique TAZ coating offers better protection against built up edge, and guarantees significantly longer tool life, as a result of its chemical composition.
