With energy towards more cost efficiency

Francis blade

Francis turbines are complex systems with a level of efficiency of up to 90 percent. With this type of turbine, an additional swirl of the water is induced by a spiral tube and then guided onto the blades of the guide wheel which are curved in the opposite direction. With the aid of the guide blades, the turbine's output is held constant even during load variations and changing water levels.

We have the right metal cutting tools, and we develop for our customers the optimum machining processes for manufacturing these constructionally complex systems.

Here is a selection of our tools:

  • Walter Valenite round insert cutter for roughing the turbine blades
  • Walter Valenite ball nose mill for semi-finishing the turbine blades
